Google My Business extends open service addition to all industries

It’s no longer necessary to be a restaurant for an establishment to display, in Google search and Maps, the services of its choice on its local web page. Since January 2018, local businesses in the restaurant sector were privileged because they could directly encode their Menu using a dedicated editor without being limited to Attributes suggested via the dashboard (or the API) Google Business Profile.

This feature is now extended to other sectors and, as with the Menu editor, it will only be available for My Business listings in English before a wider rollout.

Note also that a visual indicator has been added to the platform to access the input area.

Difference between Attributes and the info editor in Google Business Profile

The Attributes are additional information complémentaires suggérées in the dashboard Google Business Profile (depending on the country and the catégorie of the l’établissement) that users can décider d’display or not on their listing. Before the déploiement of the l’éditeur of Menu for restaurants, c’était the only option to présenter the l’offre of the l’entreprise local more in détail.
