Tutorial: Claiming the Facebook page of your establishment
When managing multiple points of sale, it is common to see unmanaged local Facebook Pages appear. This article details why it is important to claim them, how to perform this procedure step by step, and how dedicated tools can facilitate the work for networks that need to manage a large volume of Pages.

Today a brand has the possibility to manage the visibility of its points of sale on Facebook. The establishments can be managed from its main Facebook Page (company page), however it sometimes happens that the local Pages are already published. In order to obtain their ownership, Facebook has put in place a system of claim.
Why claim a local Facebook page?
The publishing of unmanaged pages occurs when users report establishments that do not yet have an online presence.
You can recognize such a page by its mention "unofficial page" under the cover photo and its tooltip:
"This unofficial page was created because people on Facebook showed interest in this place or business. It is neither affiliated nor managed by anyone associated with [company name]."
Reason #1: Avoid any confusion among users
Internet users will immediately know if the page they are on is indeed the official one. An unclaimed page can create confusion, damage your image and limit your access to business features.
Reason #2: Gain visibility
The official nature d'a page allows d'to be well ranked in Facebook's internal search engine and d'to increase your chances d'to be found by the user.
Furthermore, as a page owner, you get access with full control of the advertising features available in the ad library or by accessing your Business Manager settings.
You can thus create and manage marketing and advertising campaigns directly from your business account.

To become an administrator d'an establishment, you must be both logged into Facebook and have access to the relevant page. You can claim an unofficial page or the merge it with a local page you already manage for your brand.

You can add a page there and assign a page owner with d'un Facebook access and full control of the page, or set a page owner only for certain advertising actions.
It is also possible to set an owner for your page with limited rights, according to the needs of your marketing team. Assigning an additional owner remains possible at any time from the business settings.
